I have mixed opinions about him, but I still believe he has his own way of caring for her. I hope they come together and develop a good relationship in the upcoming chapters as soon as possible.

I think he’s a shit ML. sure, he does the bare minimum, but just after being proded and convinced. he’s always hovering over her, stalking her whenever he sees her around and butting in her bussiness, but the moment she tells him something so important, he doesn’t care enough to show concern. moving up the wedding does nothing but trouvle everyone involved, he should’ve insisted she moved in his state early, and/or came up with an excuse for an extended ger away. there’s multiple ways to deal with Edith’s situation without asking her to go back to being abused so he can rescue her later. it just shows he doesn’t care enough, which has been the problem all along. he doesn’t respect her enough so he follows her around and intrudes in her conversations. he doesn’t consider her opinons at all so he drags her around and expects her to agree to his every plan without complaints. he treats her as an object go assuage his family, but doesn’t even bother to come up with actual benefits for her to agree, just expects her to do it anyway. havinf “duchess benefits” like spending money or whatever is literally part of her job, it’s not a benefit for her. and yet he’s been demanding her to parade around in public knowkng she hates it because that’s what he expects. he’s a shitty partner. there’s no way around it. this moment just showed it openly for everyone to see.
