I dunno if it’s just me, but just in case: this chapter is missing a good few panels, and they’re not at the start of the next chapter either. So, before you click next and wonder why that “you’d look well together” has Caesar looking hurt in a flashback with a panel that isn’t in this chapter (on this page)
Canaria goes on to tell Caesar that she thinks he and Grace would suit each other well and find happiness if they’re married. And how if he is with Grace he’ll be able to sway more people to his side and have a better chance at becoming emperor.
Caesar fires back that he’s already married, and that Duke Lancaster is not going to send Grace in to be a concubine of all things.
Canaria says “that’s why you should divorce me first.” And then proceeds to say how Caesar has already endured so much and how by doing this (divorcing her) he can finally have a “proper marriage” (with love).
He shakes off her hand and looks devastated while saying “do you really think that’s how I’d be happy?” (Same panel shown in the flashback at the start of the next chapter).
And he walks off while she wonders why he looks so hurt.
I want to remind everyone that FL is biased based on the novel, and hasn’t been shown or told explicitly (by the man himself) that Caesar is in love with her/favours her over other girls. In part thanks to that firework going off too loudly.
