I feel kinda bad for the duke because technically it was he who found the place first and he wasn’t credited after what all the efforts he did transform the lives of people there.

I mean personally I would have brought somebody that was completely neutral like somebody from the imperial guards or something, your own lawyer can’t be used as a reliable witness in most proceedings, so I would have brought an “impartial” party. Like even fabricating a situation where you want some type of outside researcher or something from another impartial household or the imperial family to be there, and they just coincidentally happen to be with you at the time that you open that door.
