That has squat to do with being her fault!!!! How dare them once again try to make her feel guilty and use her as a punching bag for all their grievances someone else caused them! They think old fashioned- blame the person just cause they’re related- when she had nothing to do with it, that’s just sick. This women almost seems like she could low key be trying to make her feel bad but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt because she didn’t seem hostile, maybe she’s going to go somewhere else with this

I don’t remember what book did I read this, but there’s a sentence which i vaguely remember “ignorance is a sin, therefore you will be punished even for something you don’t know.” Basically it’s like saying, if you have such a wonderful life without a care, then you have ignoring the suffering around you. So I think the author kind of punishing Annete for that?
