I reread everything and here is my theory. I believe that Lize is controlled by the author or dude behind the computer. I had an idea that maybe the dude in the hoodie is her brother somehow? He seems to subtly be pretty important. And his attitude kinda fits somehow? I know its a stretch but I think that Lize is the reincarnation of that patient who the homegirl left without saying goodbye. Like maybe this is her chance at happiness and she’s worried things aren’t going well for her. She’s not actively being a white lotus as far as I can see.
Another theory I have is that she might not truly be into Cliff as much as we think. Cliff is being so weird but in their private moments she isn’t showing any sort of attraction or desire to be with him. She wants her moments with Killian and she actively tries to win him over even when they are alone. Maybe the author is using Cliff as a proxy and that’s why he’s antagonistic with Edith?
