Rize is so spoiled, she is so used at the brothers and their family dotting on her. I don’t hate her, cuz she grew up not knowing better. However, I do blame Author/Cliff. And yes, I am almost certain that author is possessing Cliff’s body or is indeed Cliff. He is basically manipulating her there. Hopefully Rize grows up and uses her tiny little brain of hers to think and just becomes a good friend with Edith.

Throughout this story, I get mixed feelings.
You could say that the protagonist is weak but, after knowing all the restrictions she has to overcome her fate, you find her resourceful and resilient, eager to survive, not just fall in love and all that stuff.
You start feeling antipathy for the ML… but knowing that he’s conditioned by the novel’s restrictions, you also feel kind of sad for him.
However, nonetheless, I feel that their relationship happens too soon (it doesn’t feel paced, sometimes it’s rocky at best, and you don’t really feel Killian’s evolution. Not even in the novel).
I mean, I understand the setting and the tricks the FL has to use in order to survive… but I could also do without Killian altogether. Even if now he’s starting to be more proactive in their relationship, I find him too unapproachable, uptight, and too f***ing lazy to like him.
