They skipped the entire part about Jubel putting the baron in his place. After Max thought about using money to pay the baron the baron basically started hinting at wanting to be richly compensated. Jube cut him off and went “how about this? We’ll call this even after you talk down to me the way you say my guard talked down to you. Well? What are you waiting for? Talk down to me/insult me?” Baron doesn’t, because he knows it won’t end well. He apologises for the “fuss”, Jubel demands he apologises to her “body guard”, Baron does so while trying to give Max the evil eye. Max gives a superior evil eye in return and the baron runs off with his tail between his legs.
At the end of the chapter there’s a few game simulation panels to show what Duke Daddy is currently up to: calling Derek (his assistant) into his office to let him know the yellow tulips have wilted horrendously. Derek says the made had definitely changed them this morning. Option panel popping up “blame Derek for this” or “tell him something must be up”, Duke goes with second option and wonders if the flowers may have been sick, or if something shady is going on.
