I bet it was that danged jewel. Remember we saw the guy with the black hair and “black” eyes that flowed blue when he was with Jeanette at the market? I bet he put a dark spell on it and basically absorbed raven and since raven was born around the time when the emperor began caring for the princess, any memory that both shared, was taken with raven to wherever the heck that jewel is connected to. That’s my theory. And maybe when raven comes back then the emperor will get his memory back.
