I disagree with the red dress: given os the first time I see so much as a lady’s ancle here, it must have been scandalous to the locals to be above knee level… not to mention a stupid choice when it seems to be a very cold place.
You’re assuming this world should be close to post-medieval western period, but you’re wrong. For starters, it was reminded earlier that they have clothing that is keeping warmth by magic. And for a magic world, what exactly could be considered scandalous or not is up to your imagination.
I also see the cocktail dress/gown too revealing at that age/time. I do not think this should be acceptable. A slit might be fine though but I agree with others that it should be longer. To maintain conservative look.
Let’s not forget that she told us about how clothing is imbued with magic to make it warm. She’s probably totally fine in that dress in terms of weather. But I do think that the shortness was a little something. But she had worn a mid-calf length dress another time so maybe they just really don’t get shocked by it.
