Why do these type of comics always make kids out to act/think younger than they should be at that age? It’s a common trope to have them look incredibly young and think incredibly childlike even when they’re young teenagers. Kinda bothers me. This kid was acting more like what I’d think of as like 7 or 8 years old, not 12.

Well, I think the upbringing of the child will affect how he acts. Especially the surroundings.. And their circumstances. Some kids also mature faster while some do not.
