Thats because back then women weren’t considered persons, more rights and tolerance were given to men and woman were treated more like tools. That’s the conservative way so if a woman is unfaithful? HEAVILY PUNISHED, CALLED TERRIBLE THINGS, DESTROYED BY SOCIETY. but a man? Thats okay, the woman must have been annoying, or what is he supposed to do? He’s a man and he has desires he cant control!
