aw crap okay mc you won me over, that would be extremely painful to see and even though if you are wrong it would cause Essie terrible trouble since he only has you, you chose to protect yourself from the pain of seeing him come to hate and kill you. Why don’t you leave a note at least then if you are guna run away anyway, “hey I’m adopted don’t hate me I’m sorry it’s not cause I hate you” or anything cus I still :’0 feel for Essie. The contents of the Novel have not once gone on course so there is hope, but I do understand why she would rather be safe.

What if she just talks to him, she has the marbles that turn back time. She talks to him calmly and with a safe distance and a marble in her hand if he tries to hurt her, she just throws it and has the guarantee that he hates her for that. OR she is gonna find out that he is happy/confused ( or what I suspect/hope that he already knows it ) and lets her live.
