Is he the same homeless looking guy crouching on the ground right before he rushes at her because he looks completely different, so what’s up with that?

No! he’s definitely not the same guy! the homeless guy is wearing red while he’s in black, so who’s THAT? why so much detailing on a homeless looking extra? (and he was watching her!) now I’m really curious who the homeless guy off to the side is because unless mystery guy ditched the coat & the dirt suddenly disappeared off his face, they’re two entirely different people!

Honestly I just think it’s extra detail for us readers to expect an attack by the homeless man but it was him instead so it caught us off guard

For the speculating commenters:
The homeless man was wearing elodys cloak. She probably used it to sneak out but didn’t want to be caught with it as her second brother would see her lie of going to a Cafe as sus, so she gave it to the homeless man. It’s unrelated to the wizard guy who disappeared, which is probably the mage she invested in.
