I also agree that FL should stop thinking about him coming back to his previous love. If I remember, he never even said he “loved” her as a woman but constantly called Leisha as a person he saw as a little sister

Lol she’s not dumb she works purely off logic. The reason she’s fixated on Leisha being the wife of Duke Evron is because logically, bringing the Saint and the future emperor together would ultimately work to solidify two of the most powerful forces of the empire. Therfore, cementing Duke Everons legitimacy as the future ruler. She also at the moment believes she lacks the necessary morals to be an empress who can stand beside Everon with his upstanding reputation and moral righteousness.
