I think they are but only share the same great grandfather, so they’re second cousins once removed. honestly not a bad marriage especially since its for political reasons. genetically the risk for disorders for future kids only increases from like 3% (the natural risk) to maybe 4-6% (I used google). Morally, they were never treated as related, never grew up around the other, they’re as good as strangers

Are they first degree cousins? Through grandfather though. Maybe it is allowed before?

If they’re cousins through their grandfathers then they’re 2nd degree cousins. 1st degree cousins are children of siblings.
