Now the setting starts gaining substance in the mind and actions of main character. In an interesting way. Well, family business is political business in hereditary realms, as far as nobles are concerned. They are one and the same. The flexibility law allows to determine who will inherit what makes it a more dynamic society. And apparently sex is not relevant, what complicates things a bit more, since military command is among the main obligations of nobles (but I remember women can be knights in this setting, so perhaps that’s not too relevant).

She wants it to Hailey because she’s training Hailey to think like her. Hailey is like her shadow when it comes to thinking countermeasures and strategies. If it’s Lysia, she’ll most likely just spoil the kid, given how much she respects and loves Tia lol

man sometimes she really pisses me off. Like girl you’re literally bearing his child and now you’re thinking about a possible future where he has a child with Lysia?? Even though he said he’s not interested in her AAANND Lysia has also made it clear she doesn’t want him?? At this point its just disrespectful to Cedric to not even take his opinion into consideration. She’s SO negative it’s frustrating to read (even though I do understand some of her fears)
