Wierd that the mom left because she was afraid she would hurt her family but kept Loretta with her. I can understand a baby need it’s mother, but after, if she was so worried, why not send her to her husband and sons. Was she not worried she would be a danger to her as well. If she lived safe with Loretta for 5 years, why not keep in contact with her family. Plenty of nobles co to the country to recuperate, so it would have been relatively easy to still hide the truth from the public, but not inflict emotional wounds on the rest of the family
