Tbh other people may think that the ‘protagonist’ is being manipulated but.. What if she wasn’t? She’s literally trying to break the relationship of the Duke and Ariel like I know she’s doing it mostly because of her brother and like the Khan is powerful but also remember they plan on using Ariel again maybe as another experiment again. In one of the episodes the Duke figured out that those people experiment on Ariel and the Duke (I forgot the name of the Duke btw) when they were kids causing them pain of course the Ariel now won’t know because that information in the original novel was in secret so what if the original Ariel was obsessed with the Duke mostly because they both suffered and cared for each other at the same time 16 years ago
