I respect your attempts, but it felt weird having him refer to their dad as just “my father” when they’re both siblings, I guess it emphasizes the difference between the two of them, with the brother effortlessly getting the father’s attention while the sister is utterly hated. I hate the tropes where one is hated for “killing the parent” but grief makes people do weird things, I just wish they’d get over it, it’s been like a decade, the father needs to step up and actually be a father, not just a hinderment to her life.

I think it’s lost in translation. Non-official translations can be spotty. There’s another part where Ray referred to Karnon as “her father” too.

It’s definitely translation. In my bf Mexican family he refers to his dad and mom as “my dad” “my mom” even when talk to his siblings. It’s cultural

Awe I love that he is slowly getting her attention now. They are talking longer then usual. He is not avoiding the fact that her and their father aren’t close. He knows her feelings and how lonely she was and hurt. He sees how smart and kind she is. He just wants to be a figure for her to rely on. Even in the last life he congratulated her when she killed their dad, he never wanted to see her in pain. I am glad at least this time round he is showing more that he wants to help, he just wants to see that she loves him too by a gesture such as a hug or kiss on the cheek. Honestly a sweet and kind big brother. Pushy yes, but it is admirable how he kept trying to make her happy.

Ray is so precious and pure. If my sister treated me like that, I’d give up long time ago. I don’t bother beg for her attention like Ray does.
