What did almost being forced to marry someone he didn’t love suddenly make him wake up to how his brother felt all these years and see everything in a new light? Or what! lol. That’d be a bit extreme- just suddenly, and way delayed

Or did he understand all a long and he was really just mad/upset/hurt he felt abandoned by his brother and all the responsibilities dumped on him, and he was taking that out on her- not cause he actually cared she was illegitimate all this time. Kinda like you can tell his son does care but always acts like an immature little nitwit cause he doesn’t know how to express himself.

Now you want to intervene when someone is disrespecting your niece? There’s no way you didn’t know how your son, the maids, literally anyone who interacted with her was mistreating. So why now? This whole family is full of hypocrites.

This story has a lot potential but the pacing and behavior of the characters is really odd. It’s like the author drew up a timeline of all the significant scenes they wanted to happen and then just scribbled a line loosely connecting those scenes instead of putting necessary dialogue and context to help the story flow better and help readers understand. It makes it difficult to be fully immersed in the story.
