I think the marchioness just adapted to ensure she could be treated equally. Instead of wanting men to treat all women with respect, she seems to have “solved” her problem by simply becoming the opposite of a lady.

I am not trying to argue, but I don’t fault the Marchioness for being a “pick me” in this setting/time period… Even if by doing so, she accidentally perpetuated the problem.
Just think about what the guy in brown/beige said to Astina: “It is so rare to see a lady who deserves this kind of respect these days.”
That was the rhetoric that the Marchioness probably had to listen to for at least seven years, and going against them would have risked everything she had worked for. We have factually seen throughout history that women have been repressed to varying degrees, including access to the same rights that men had by default. In the Marchioness’ case, the right to inherit her house.
Who would have thought that by limiting what women were “allowed” or “expected” to do, they were also limiting what women could become? 🙄

The knight commander is actually pissing me off. He says a woman that holds a sword can’t be a lady, but Tina literally taught him!!!!! He has SO much loyalty towards her so why does he hold such traditional values towards women as knights. It would be cool to see the female knights of House Tristan spar these men so they can break their ego.
