I dont think that “affair” is actually an affair. Something else is going on behind the scenes. And she a little naive to just take that woman’s word for it and not even investigate further.

Calvin openly admitted to the affair though. And shortly before “begging for another chance” he was berating her for /dressing herself/, yanking on her hair, and accusing her of dressing up for a man she has had 0 contact with for /years/, over a pair of earrings.

And with Calvin’s reasons for wanting a rabbit, sounds basically like that’s how he views Gloria/how he wants her to be. Quiet, “listens to him”, by his side, as his possession that only belongs to him. When you put that with how he’s been treating her, it’s clear he doesn’t want to hear anything except what he wants from her, and only wants her wearing things he chose for her at all times.
