I really really don’t like and agree with the FL…afterall she went through she is still very self-absorbed and selfish. Ines only learned to run away from her problems instead of actually facing them. Despite what the ML did, I find him a better person than her. He realized what he did was wrong and is taking steps to correct and redeem himself. Instead of recognizing that, Ines just throws it in his face every chance she gets.
She’s also stupid. Really stupid. He is a powerful man with great influence from an equally powerful and influential family THAT LOVES HER. That’s the greatest protection a woman in her position could ever have. Once a man like that gets tired and stops loving her, she’ll be in the danger is trying to run from. Mark my words.

I don’t think Ines is stupid. She’s just hurt. If you were in her shoes, would you still trust your husband if when you two were still engaged, the whole time he’s been kissing other women and such? And it’s not just about that. She’s traumatized of men. In her first life, she was physically, s*xually and emotionally abused by her husband, the disease and miscarriages added to the trauma. Then her second life ended in tragedy also, with her family actually betraying her by planning the death of/ mur*ering her second husband. Those traumatic experiences led to her deep rooted trust issues with men. Maybe she thinks that the reason for her being reborn multiple times just to suffer again is because of her past lives’ failed tragic marriages. I think she believes that if she had a quiet marriage with Carcel, then divorce him, grow old single and eventually die, it will be, as she said, her true death, in which it would be more peaceful than her past lives and she won’t be reborn again. I think she doesn’t really care about “protection”, right now, she still just wants to eventually be left alone and die. Which is indeed sad, that is why I’m hoping she will heal and eventually learn to open up her heart when she’s ready.

But that’s the point of some characters, to not just like them. She’s not good nor bad, despite her growth she’s still learning and messing up. She ended up badly in her first life and realize that she had fault, but because she then just awakens into another life but at the same time is the duplicating the last one by already following the same route, she goes more by instinct of survival while learning and growing some.
Like for me she didn’t really love the paintor, she liked him but it was more about the fact this man cared for her in a complete different way than the royal guy in her previous life mixed with her trying to save herself and getting away from that life line since time was running out, which is why we see she just eloped while not knowing or learning much.
In this life given the trauma coming from her previous lifes plus the spiral of rebirth, she’s also going more by instinct of self preservation which desensitizes her. Now that she has more time she learns and plans but doesn’t change her tunnel vision of just getting away to survive and not suffer again. Her route for this one is on Cárcel expenses because she thinks love or politics won’t fix a damn, so she throws his mistakes at him for her lack of believing plus manipulation to force the divorce.
And Cárcel might be trying to be better, but i’d also I’d find it hard to believe this man just did and full turn of his habits and is a lovesick puppy now, he’s not really showing her his care, they barely communicate because he knows he messed up before and feels he’s undeserving so tries to not bother her and she’s just set that this marriage will fail but will use it for her freedom.

Ines is clearly beginning to fall for Carcel. She just tries to convince herself that it is bc of the divorce she’s pursuing.. but she got SO jealous when he helped the drunk lady..

I think it’s going to be really hard for Inez to divorce and leave Carcel because she has feelings for him more than she wants to admit. . . . I think her plan will fail. 😭 I just want her to be happy this time and for her life to end peacefully this time. 😌

Honest assessment of the two:
FL (without taking into account her past lives, joe effectively an objective only this life point of view): She seems like a very cold person that has straight up told him that she doesn’t care about him and is fine with him continuing to cheat. Every now and then she takes pop shots, from a therapy point of view they’re at the point that normally they should have ended their relationship, but she has fought to make sure they stay in a relationship. Thus, I understand his confusion. Impossible animosity towards her. She’s a confusing 4/10 human.
ML: He’s someone that knows that he’s extremely handsome and got forced into being engaged to a woman he isn’t interested in. Most people would have tried to end the engagement, but the story makes it seem as if he wasn’t able to do that, Even though his fiance’s father was looking for literally any excuse to be able to do so, which means he just lacked the follow through to actually do so (you know that if she was still like 16 and he straight up said that he will not marry her no matter what that the dad would have just found a way to force it through). Instead he escapes into philandering with literally any woman as a pulse, finally gets caught and does the standard bs a philanderer does. Then finds out that she doesn’t care because she doesn’t care about him, and every action they said since then is basically what you would expect. He went from denial that she could feel that way, to trying to find proof that she felt that way because she was also cheating on him (He’s still doing that one), to trying to force her to marry him immediately so as he can gain an upper hand (which was the same reason he was cheating, was a power move till he found out it wasn’t). That’s where we currently are… To put it way too, simply from a therapist point of view. He did not have the ability/courage to break free so he chose the “power” over her of cheating on her, then finds out that that isn’t actually giving him any “power” and is currently using the marriage/ trying to use his f**kboy libido/moves to gain a new type of control/power. 2/10 human.
