So far from what I observed– I think the emperor is a woman, meanwhile the concubines that are shown for now are all male actually– (I think they take both female and male as concubine as well)

They are not females, all of them are male but I think there is a translation problem. In korean the word for he and she is the same word so I think they messed it up. Garam, and Mirinae is a male so are the other concubines. There are other female concubines as well but its really is a small number and they are not mentioned in the story.
