Starting with what we know..

Theory
– Fml and the mom are the same person. She wiped her own memories and manipulated the family to make it seem she’s one of them. That can explain the hostility since she is literally not part of the family
– fml is an ancient demon who wiped her memory so many times she mistakes herself as a human.
– mom/fml we’re in a relation with ml. That’s why he’s so fond of her
– the mansion was her prior home and ml preserved it for her
