I don’t feel bad for the mom, if she truly wanted to run away she could have. She gave some huge long story of accepting her destiny when in reality if the man that she fell in love with actually wanted to leave with her, they would have been gone… She made up some giant long thing about accepting her destiny because that’s what she was told by the guy who rejected her, then proceeds to admit that her her and his father screwed up so bad that they now have to ruin his life too.
I’d be so ashamed I’d never be able to tell him anything to do ever again.
