man ima get flamed but im kinda with the boyfriend on this one. like i know we read this to relate to the virtuous fl but being with that much of a doormat is actually exhausting. and when you start to get feelings for someone else, the two ethical things are to either work on your relationship or break up. He felt like she didn’t really care about him and was just being a martyr all the time, so he was within his right to end it.
i do think it was shitty he decided to open her package without her and take the account, but that you can chalk up to him just being petty about a breakup. its crappy but understandable.

I agree! At some point, staying with someone like her sometimes reduces your self-esteem, cause it seems as though they’re just tolerating you – like when we deal with annoying kids. You also then question your self-worth sometimes.
