I know you want to become OP, but if you’re trying to protect your ‘wife’, aren’t you also supposed to help her achieve her true title so she can also be powerful? What happened to asking her about her abilities that you had mentioned chapters ago? Didn’t the daughter’s powerful genes come from the mom? How did the story suddenly turn to be about the powers of the MC?
This story started out with an average MC wanting to coach his ‘wife’, but he’s doing everything himself now, and even if he’d learned some skills, he isn’t sharing anything with her or his friends. He’s not obligated, but it shows he’s selfish, or he doesn’t trust her. A good example is when he had learned that aura thing with the paladin and he didn’t show the trick to the teammates even when they were fighting that big boss in Greece.
He also wanted to help her daughter control her powers initially, but he hasn’t called any teacher till now. If it wasn’t for the cat, that girl would have been in big trouble.
All I’m saying is, the story has changed directions. I would have routed for the MC and the ‘wife’ to be together, now I feel like the green witch has more potential.
I think you’re forgetting the reason this shift happened. He stopped overly meddling in the advancement of the people around him once he realized how severely he was growing the butterfly effect. If he promotes her growth at the extremity of his, she may die a future he can’t predict. But to sit back and let nature take its course she will definitely die. So he’s growing himself to protect what he can’t and meddle with as little as possible. As for his daughter, he doesn’t know magic… how is he going to help her? Erzebet (forgot how to spell her name) is the only trustworthy witch around him but he can’t contact her at will.
