I had high hopes, but it failed.
At first I expected the FL to be actual psyco, tough and skilled. But she is actually a mary sue with a thick plot armor. Weak and dumb.
All FL’s gazes are sooo cool but at the same time they have nothing behind them. It’s like a hamster gazing furiously gazing at a wolf.
The idea was interesting, I wished this was a story about a psycho hidden beneath a fragile woman and a spy husband that ghosted her. But this is a story about a crazy hamster and her wolfy husband.

theyre both a lil nutty & a lot horny & obsessive by the tons. its a dark romance so expect the gritty taboos including blatant sa, coersion, a power imbalance, extreme gaslighting, drugging, & a vague case of lack of consent – i say vague cuz she consented to sleep w her husband but it wasnt INFORMED consent cuz he was not at all who she thought he was. he also drugged her for years, causing bodily injury. so there’s that too…
& while she clearly loves her husband crazily, i have no idea if she plans to stab him when she finds him or just fk him dry. & honestly i dont think even she knows what she’ll do when she catches him. she’s kinda just fumbling around w no plan or any concern for her wellbeing & all the while i feel like hed tell her the truth if she just threatened to jump off a bridge unless he shows up. theyre both crazy & the relationship is toxic enough that it would be completely unsurprising if she really did go that far just to find him tbh. anyway, i dont know why some of the reviews seem dissatisfied w the amount of crazy? like somehow this is too tame? just how deranged do you people want your characters to be??? this romance is plenty dark & psychological. in fact, dont read if you dont want to see triggering material. but if youre ok w reading gritty dark romance, you might enjoy.
