I still can’t get over that they completely abandoned a ten year old to her own devices. She could have starved to death, or been picked up by a weirdo, or had an accident, or gotten sick. They have money: they couldn’t have paid for a nanny?? Or sent her to a school?? She got zero education for an entire year! Even if they were sending the prince to check on her, that’s seriously irresponsible.
Is this tyrant the one from the novel, or did he usurp his brother who would have been the crazy one? That would explain a lot, such as his kid and why he hasn’t gone crazy for some girl, and also resolve most of the problems.
