Better late than never. I think she started caring way before but Xia Yi was the one who pushed her efforts away remember? She kept on meeting him in the park. I’m sure she started trying to mend things after her husband died but her attitude like leaving him alone during the funeral of his father made him dislike her. Heck, even I would feel hurt if i had to go through that alone but I just didn’t know what she was thinking or went through. Now things have cooled down and Xia Yi is a bit more mature and understanding, he will do fine. They both will.
And even though the word giving birth looks so simple, like if you give birth, that’s it. The pain is gone after. But it’s not that at all. We have to take her emotional state into account. She was forced to marry. So she was already hurt by that. Then, forced to give birth on top of it too. That’s a whole 9 months of being pregnant and suffering the pregnancy symptoms. People who wanna be pregnant might be enjoying their pregnancy but the people who are forced to? That’s a whole 9 months of suffering. Not to mention the pain of giving labour either normal or caesarean, both are painful. Physical pain on top of emotional pain? And the after labour pains too. As i said, people who wanna have babies might be enjoying it even though it’s painful but for people who didn’t have the choice? You have to be super strong to live day by day. So of course it will take time to heal. Heck, I doubt people who suffer that kind of mental damage actually heal but I think they just gotta get stronger so as not to let the demons take them over by offing themselves. So, in conclusion, yes she was selfish. But not too selfish as u thought. Although it’s late, at least she’s making efforts. Better than those who don’t.
I understand her side, but to treat your child in a hateful way when they’re just an innocent bystander is just wrong. He never asked to be born or for your life to be the way it is! But being young & unable to stand up for themselves, kids are the ones that are always mistreated & abused since they’re an easy target. She should apologize to him herself instead of shamelessly trying to act like a caring mother after all this time.
