Not the , be a better older sister , tho the doll part she was being immature I know she was young but he was so young so obv you I would’ve given up but after that it’s just sad , no offense to main character because I was an older sister when I could think good and bad so I don’t bother to fight and was a mini manipulator so can’t relate more like get his toy love it more so he wants his not mine k8nda thing

I get what you mean, but the reason why she didn’t want her brother to take her toy is because it was something the mother made, and considering the neglect of the parents and the parents not giving equal love and affection to her, she didn’t want something the mom made taken by the brother because it is something special to her.

At the start I believe the parents just didn’t know how to parent and ended up neglecting her but as she got older they just had a hard time being around her and didn’t really see her as a daughter but as someone to help raise their kids.

I am also an older sister and this is a responsibility that comes to us without our permission. It’s very annoying that you have to be the person who cares for others, for the problems but who would also like to have been cared for, you have to become an adult before the time when you would just like to be a little more of a child. I’ve reread this story many many times and I just want to make a single point.

Essentially this entire story breaks down to a sad little girl that just wanted any type of display of affection from her parents and literally never got it. She never got it in such a fashion that she had to quite literally convoke parents that cared about her for even a few minutes. She’s been regulated to death for a few minutes of familial love. Familial love is what we normally define as unconditional love. Every child is entitled to some level of unconditional love from their parents. But this baby never got any amount of unconditional love except for when she drew her own parents, and that single act doomed her entire existence.
