Wait… wait he is from the past too! And why does he look concerned in the flash back… knowing she was poisoned. It makes no sense, in chapter 1 he choose Kaira cousin to be come empress. There was no look of pitty or concern on his face. There is a major pilot hole in this story or it will get expanded later. I hope they do.

K so what I have figured out is that POSSIBLY he turned back time after her death because he loved her , he already knew that she would die and the reason he married her cousin was because that was what the empress wanted him to do and he had no choice Which is why he banished her instead of killing her but when he found out she had killed herself he set out to turn back time and accidentally brought her back too

my theory is that after Kaira began wasting away, he probably realized he should marry someone who isnt going to die aka Vienna but after Kaira died, he realized Vienna was useless because she did not have power or influence or the people disliked her or disliked the Imperial Couple. And he realized belatedly that he fcked up.
thus maybe the wishes of all three of them (Kaira, Fallon, and Reagan) had enough impact to reverse time.
In the new timeline, Reagan wants things to remain the same: Kaira leaving Fallon to be with him and make him Emperor because she has power and influence and a raging wish to be loved aka easy to manipulate. The fact that Kaira refuses him his supply (her devotion) causes him to go obsessive (like what narcissts do when their partner sees the light and leaves them). He didn’t count on Kaira hating his guts and leaving him.
