Im Lowery doubting they share the same father. The mother seems deranged and obsessed with being the counts wife, probably enough to kill his actual wife. And he doesn’t seem like the type to cheat so unless they broke up prior to her knowing she was pregnant and never told him, and was pissed he got married im not seeing him leaving or cheating on his then ailing wife with a maid. And they said she came to them already pregnant so either he knew her prior or she got pregnant and became obsessive because he showed true kindness to her and she got it in her head that she was meant to have the wife’s spot.

Yeah, she strikes me as a woman suffering from psychosis, either triggered by her pregnancy, or just amplified by it (I had a relative who suffered from something similar, from the 1940s until her death in the 2000s). I have a feeling that the two girls aren’t actually sisters. If her child looks like anyone, it’s the ex-fiancé, which adds a whole extra layer of ick to everything. I get the feeling that she got lost in a fantasy after being shown such kindness/generosity from Lord Grint, and she’s dragged her child into her delusions.
