The chapter cuts over to an entirely different story after Lowena says she doesn’t wanna go on a walk. No clue what rhe other story is from but they’ve got cars and seat belts while we already had it established that the world of /this/ story still uses carriages.

Found the chapter elsewhere.
– Lowena says she’d rather read aloud to the Dowager so she can teach Lowena how to speak with an intonation as elegant as hers.
– Once they get inside the Dowager asks what Lowena really wants. Lowena reveals that she’d wanted to give the Dowager an excuse to get away from the pollen since clearly it had bothered her too (which is why she was lenient to the kid with an allergy)
– Dowager asks about Lowena’s intention and Lowena says she wants to ask a favour. The Dowager is less than impressed and calls for the butler to send Lowena back to the others.
– Lowena bursts out with how she wishes to kiss the Dowager on the cheek when she leaves (citing envy ocer seeing other kids having grownups they can do that for while she’s an orphan).
– Dowager pauses, the butler having arrived, and thinks about how since her child and husband died there had been a lot of people coming around to ask for favours (outrageous ones at that), thinking she’d be an easy mark, she hadn’t expected Lowena’s request to be something so harmless/trivial.
– Dowager agrees, so when the children leave Lowena kisses the Dowager on the cheek (who leaned down to let her do it), stunning the others form the orphanage.
– Lowena waves goodbye from the carriage as it leaves and others question her about once she sits down properly. Meanwhile the Dowager tells her butler to have the chef learn some sweet recipes, something a child would enjoy.
