wait… so… we were shown them waking up after their “creation”, as adults. But now there was a flashback of them as children, outside the tower. Earlier, Khal said “What have you done to my body” immediately after waking up. Our MC also said it felt like her body wasn’t “her own”. And this was before she got the memories of everything being inside a book, meaning she shouldn’t even know what “her” body used to feel like. So. They aren’t actually creating the pairs?
