How can you ask her to trust you while you’re doing nothing to learn about the world around you? FL has to trust others because it’s her only way to learn what is going on. ML doesn’t know much more then she does. It seems like he knows something about their past, but he isn’t sharing even that info. She should trust him more, sure, but she can’t trust only him the way he’s acting.
