I’d also like to throw this out there; the Duke doesn’t know she has another family. And from his perspective, she just disappeared after leaving. So, him adopting her (which he totally did not give her a say in this now) might have been a way to protect her should her name and face surface.
But yeah…. it looks like we’re about to have an antagonist; well-meaning or not, damage is about to be done.

I really, reeaally, dislike this overgrown purple yam. You better not do anything. I understand you want to do one of the things your son—the same son you lost for years, you cherished then lost, BUT, that doesnt justify the fact your being mature as an adult too. Your encouraging the unhealthy obsession your son has against that poor 5 year old.😭 You shouldnt make it seem valid in his eyes- as a father, you should educate him on that. And if you cant, then dont just adopt her without her consent or anything like that. You might think your doing her a favor since you dont know her background fully, sure, but that doesnt make up for the fact she did not consent to it.
