Ok, I’m gonna make a crazy argument here but, hear me out. The og Aylee wasn’t the evil monster she appears to be I’m not saying the things she did was ok but honestly, knowing what we do now, everything she did was a result of how things had been taught to her, her own behavior was just a reflection of the abuse she was victim of, which doesn’t excuse her but she lost her parents , was abused by her new tutor and later on used by her own brother as a pawn. He basically sold her off to a dude she didn’t even like to get out of his aunt’s claws. He used her and then when he found someone he liked he was just like: well, we appreciate your efforts but you’ll be marrying off of this family do shut up, and then he just freaking left, to the war sure but he left. And now his inexperienced wife and underage sister, who was already feeling like she has to assert her authority and control or she’d be kicked out of the family, are left alone just like that. anyways, I hate the brother too
