They definitely left out a few things from the novel. I think it was at this point where Reeze’s nightwear was suppose to be like Edith’s (more risque). Killeon notes that and thinks its not her style and it’s implied she confesses to Killeon but he thinks his feeling for her are in the past. Basically asks what would have happened if Reeze chose him and not Cliff. (This is chapter 102-103 in the novel)
