based on the limited flashbacks we’ve seen i think Tatiana used the bracelet to manipulate him and his feelings, possibly something related to touching him???, and then on their wedding night when she reached his “ending” and the story effects diminished he figured out everything she said to him was a lie based on fake responses that were only meant to increase his favorability of her and not what she actually thought and so he realized the one he was actually in love with was Karina and thats why he told her she “ruined his life”

I think he really was effected by the bracelet but on the wedding night something happened that broke the magic hold it had on him, then from THERE he decided to use the bracelets powers to achieve his bigger life goal of Emperor. Even with that he’s still trashy but that doesn’t prevent him from being a victim.
