What I don’t get is how she doesn’t know who she is when she knows the priest is doomed to love and kill her for eternity via backstory from the two other doomed people, WHICH SHE SAW HERSELF DO! Hell, he professed his love for her already! She is literally told by not only her fiancé first but then the priest that she is in fact the reincarnation of the saint who, I mention again, she knows was loved by the priest in the past life. It sets off the Duke bc he’s professing his love and triggers her nullification and everything!!! Put this together with clues SHE knows, so either I really should have gone for Criminal Justice instead of early childhood education in college or she’s dumb and the author is trying to gaslight us by the characters claiming she’s smart.
