All these beings, mermaids included are Lottie since it was her soul in all of them, her soul doesn’t just enter the body, it is in the body but dormant since her past memories are not yet available to her.
Thus, all reincarnations are Lottie, they have different lives and they all intersect when Lottie regains her memory of the past life which is random.
Hence, in this life she is his daughter but now she’s just infused with her past lives’ memories.
