ok ok theory (SO POSSIBLE SPOILER IF IM RIGHT SO MAYBE DONT READ MY COMMENT IDK) i haven’t read this so no shade if i’m wrong. But him getting mad she was cut then saying “you filthy parasites don’t even realize whose grace you live under” makes me think that’s she’s the god in question that blessed the emperors bloodline. I think she was by his side, as her true self (whatever god she is) when the emperor that changed the kingdoms name came to power, and he betrayed her somehow (hence her being angry at the name and saying he killed her), and she was lost and wandering kinda fractured/dead after that happened, for a long time. and that’s why we see her, walk up to her parents a couple chapters back, and see a girl with her current appearance sick/dying after the fall, and she js takes her place. i could definitely be wrong, but those are the vibes im getting
