She was a slave and the very first chapter showed that she had some type of Mark around her neck, in the first life that would seemingly Force her to do whatever she’s told, which would imply that slaves can’t kill their masters. By that logic, nobody would assume that she killed him, and if your Master’s dead, you’re no longer their slave. Technically she’s now a free person
