I think i hv an idea why Guinevere is like this.

The fact that the knight went to war and there is no guarantee that he is going to be alive to the point she felt waiting isn’t worth it anymore. Also the abuse she went through and the lack of love she felt when being married. She suffered both psychological and physical damage to the point it has lead her to act like this.

In a nutshell, this second chance of life is the opportunity for her to enjoy her life and setting herself free without the need to worry abt anything including the ml himself.
