I’m sure this is an unpopular take, but I feel bad for the King.
Watching the person you love die over and over is bound to drive you insane. Sometimes I wonder why these novels create such painful backstories for the characters. Just imagine if we were “transmigrated” or “reincarnated” into one of these worlds as one of these characters.
While it might be cliche for a character like the King to get a happy ending, I still hope the FL eventually learns about this and empathizes a bit with him even if she still ends up with the Minister later. It would be a real shame if she just treats the King as a villain for the rest of the novel.
I can’t help but hope for a redemption and/or sacrifice arc for the King, even if the FL still ends up with Oscar.

I actually agree with you, it’s already painful losing someone you love, but seeing them dying over and over again and seeing you can’t do anything or it’s indirectly your own fault must drive you to extreme guilt or pain or craziness or a emotion similar.

Now I think about it king always find urania dead in many lives right? But did he ever find the root cause? It’s probably because of queen. If he had know it why make her the queen from beginning? If he really want urania happy he shouldn’t have married the stacia? For power? He choose power over love. I find his character annoying!
