You know I think all of these people may have some memories of the past life, or maybe just feelings from back them still. Like the king saying he was thinking of Fl all day long, but couldn’t explain why. Or his rift with the queen might be from an explosion of frustration he had for her towards the end of the original timeline. He likely gave the queen almost everything she wanted, but wanted the Fl for himself, and even that was taken from him in the end. I don’t think he loves her though, but likely wants to keep her because he liked her innocence and naivety. It might have helped him relax in a way the queen never could
