not really… but they def didnt despise each other nearly as much as the queen hated tarkans mom (idk how tarkans mom felt about the queen but I doubt she liked her)
I think hamir was just like “dang mom you’re sending him to WAR with nothing but a broken sword??? lemme at least give him SOMETHING” its more like guilt, kind of like the same guilt white people might feel for their ancestors owned slaves. Its similar bc even tho they might feel guilty it doesn’t mean they necessarily like black people or that they don’t commit microaggressions or more subtle acts of racism bc of how ingrained/normalized it is in society … it just means they aren’t likely to outright call you the n word or smth..
similarly Hamir is def affected by being raised by the queen… Ex: Hamir saying he was JEALOUS of Tarkan, even though he was getting shipped to the front lines as a child, bc he wasn’t under the control of the queen… kinda like how white people might feel upset about DEI when in actuality its just barely evening out the playing field. :/
in my mind they are like half-siblings Hamirs mom being a conservative white woman and Tarkans mom being a black woman (political affiliation unknown and a bit unimportant). Like Hamir would feel upset/guilty about how much Tarkan has to deal with racism in the world, but since he is his half-brother would feel exempt from being racist or smth
