I might be misunderstanding her feelings, but honestly, at this point I feel like Hess is the one making everything about Diana. Kael is just trying to move on with their lives.
Are there different versions of the novel out there? Cause I’m pretty sure this happened when I read it.
Slightly different though, sure: Kaelus reveals his plan, says he wants to let go of the hate and move on, angry/disappointed Hestia says ”… okay, I’ll do what you want”, can’t let go of the hate, spirals on her own, Kael leaves for the palace the next morning and Hestia contemplates ”how do I return to the REAL world/quit the novel?” on the balcony while sitting on the railing, Kael gets home, sees her from the carriage, borderline teleports up the stairs and drags her down, refuses to/too terrified to let her go.
Unless you meant the ”I hate you part”, yeah, a bit different, since in the novel it’s more of an internal thought since most of it is Hestia’s point-of-view. But different mediums, different drama, I’m here for that part as well 🍿
I hate that u guys are saying that shes “too much” or “manipulative”. Imagine your transported in this unknown world, ur only happiness in this inferno(of begin trapped in somewhere u dont know, without family, friends and YOUR LIFE), its her favorite c character and his life, now that person suffers and ofc hes your reason to live so ur alr mad, NOW that person unalives himself because of those people, you whole purpose its done. (this is the first life story line). Now second life, your given this second chance and now your life mission is revenge and keeping the person you love alive, now what im trying to say its that Hess made her life mission revenge not “begin happy with Caleb”, she actually didn’t thought that Cael would fall involve with her. The problem its that without getting revenge, she doesn’t have a purpose anymore, she feels lost and thats why shes not “too much” or “manipulative” she lost and traumatized.
She’s blinded by revenge. Oml, a long time up this story Kael just seemed like he wanted to let everything go, not because he’s weak or naive but because he regards it all as unnecessary stress after he recovered. I feel him, it’s even more stressful to hold on to a grudge than to let it go. I hate losing my mind over people that suck, they aren’t worth it. It’s like she made her life revolve around taking them down instead of truly making Kael happy. If she was solely focus on his happiness she would have noticed she alone was enough to make him happy. It makes me so sad, for them both.
